= Intensive English (IEP) =
The IEP classes total 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday. In Fall and Spring, all classes are between 12:00 p.m. and 4:50 p.m.  In Summer, all classes are the same, except on Fridays, when the schedule is from 10:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
* Grammar-Writing: 8 hours a week
* Reading: 6 hours a wee
* Listening-Speaking: 6 hours a week

= Graduate English Skills Program (GESP) =
GESP is an intensive English program for international graduate students. Students who have been accepted by the Graduate School and admitted to a graduate program (either conditionally or provisionally) as well as current graduate students are eligible for GESP. If students have a low verbal score on the GMAT or GRE, they can meet the UTA Graduate School and most graduate departments' English proficiency requirements by successfully completing GESP. Occasionally, exceptions are made to this policy; if interested, please contact the GESP Coordinator at jatherton@eli.uta.edu. The workload for each class, Writing, Reading, and Listening/Speaking, is equivalent to a graduate-level class.

= Developmental English/TTA =
Any international student who wants to improve his/her oral presentation skills may take this course. However, the course was designed primarily for international graduate teaching assistants who must improve their speaking and presentation skill to meet the communication requirements of their assistantship. Most graduate departments accept a passing score in this course from students who have not passed the iBT TOEFL speaking section or IELTS. Students should take the iBT TOEFL speaking section or IELTS before registering for this course.

= July-4 weeks =
20 hour-per-week program runs from 9:00AM-2:30PM Monday through Friday
4 week program focused on listening and speaking skills and intercultural communication opportunities.  Our focus is to fit individual student needs whenever possible. This is NOT a program designed for academic preparation.  For anyone interested in academic preparation courses, please refer to the ELI's Intensive English Program (IEP) or Graduate English Skills Program (GESP).

= Custom-Designed Programs for Groups =
The ELI can design special programs, e.g., for specific groups of students or professionals - and for different lengths of time, with advance notice. Such programs are usually easiest to design in summer, from June through early August, since housing is easy to arrange at that time.
